Contemporary Flair – Main Floor
This well-kept main floor continues to age as time goes on. The homeowners were ready for a refreshing new outlook on their home. A more modern take on an otherwise traditional home created a breathtaking transformation.
THE VISION
Open concept was the main goal of this renovation. Rich walnut cabinetry that contrasts elegantly with white quartz countertops and a custom waterfall island were integrated. Built-in appliances, including a French door refrigerator and double wall ovens, add a contemporary touch. Open shelving with accent lighting enhances the aesthetic appeal, displaying glassware and kitchen essentials. The island offers seating, making it a functional and inviting gathering space. Pendant lights provide soft illumination, while recessed lighting ensures the entire kitchen is well-lit.

THE PLAN
Open concept was the main goal of this renovation. Some walls were demolished in the Kitchen and Living areas to incorporate a large island with seating, a double-sided fireplace with sightlines to each Family Room and the Entryway. A large curved open staircase is a central point in the design and allows the layout to form around it. A hidden Powder Room in the Entryway ensures functionality while remaining an integral part of the aesthetic.

THE BEFORE
This very modular layout was asking to be transformed into an open-concept main floor that would unify each individual space.

FROM DREAMS TO REALITY
The location of perimeter cabinetry remained the same, however removing the full height cabinetry and wall oven, instantly created a more open feeling space with improved foot traffic circulation, thus allowing for an expanded island.

THE DESIGN BOARD
A warm, natural palette with dark contrasting materials was incorporated into the main floor to keep in-line with a timeless aesthetic and modernizing the home. Metals, stone, and wood were all particularly specified to emphasize naturally available materials.

LARGE DESIGN FEATURES
A stunning two-tone monolithic fireplace separates two living spaces elegantly, while also showcasing an art piece with built-in lighting.

THE FINALE
Removing some walls and incorporating a natural palette creates a completely revitalized main floor for these homeowners. Visual connections to each space will allow for entertaining and family time to feel effortless.
