Golden Opportunity
The owners of this amazing home were looking for greater functionality in their spacious kitchen while updating both the look and feel of the main floor. The ensuite bath and powder room are reminiscent of an upscale 5 star resort, exactly as envisioned. They had a dream, we made it reality.
THE CONCEPT
This early 2000’s home has been very well maintained over the years, but with retirement and an empty nest, the homeowners had the golden opportunity they had been waiting for. A kitchen renovation of their dreams!
THE PLAN
It was important to maintain the transitional aesthetic quality of their home, while including all elements that maximize the kitchen space. The homeowners fell in love with warm tones, wood textures, and subtle blue hues in their décor. The original footprint was altered to ensure that the kitchen space was as open as possible, to allow for a very large island for entertaining.
THE BEFORE
Although the kitchen before the renovation was still in decent shape, the functionality of certain spaces felt closed off and didn't allow for efficiency and seamless flow from one area to another.
THE DESIGN SELECTIONS
A large decorative hood fan with a wood finish to match the island, unifies the aesthetics and brings warmth to a large kitchen. Custom island legs were included to match the look of the hood fan. Gold hardware was included throughout to add to the warmth and include a more traditional metal throughout.
IN THE DETAILS
The tall ceilings accommodated small display cabinets for the homeowner’s glassware and some open shelving with gold and wood detailing for additional décor. The side butlers pantry provides a tremendous amount of extra storage and a beautiful display or extra serving area.
THE DESIGN
The fridge and wall oven were relocated beside the pantry to create more functional full-height cabinet space and to improve the circulation and symmetry of the kitchen. This also allowed for a multi-functional counterspace for a coffee machine or even a fish tank.
OUR NICHE
Emphasis on the large windows in their dining area and adjacent family room allowed for an exceptional view of their beautiful backyard. The coffered ceiling detail was painted blue to mimic the look of a blue sky in both areas to bring the outdoors in. The stunning staircase provides an art-like feature in the main family room.
SMALL ROOM, BIG IMPACT
This charming powder room where the walls are adorned with a delicate floral wallpaper. Soft hues of blue paired with intricate detailing of animals and plants the homeowner finds in her garden. This creates a comforting and lively backdrop for this room.
THE FINALE
The black & champagne bronze finishes in this ensuite create a sense of sophistication & elegance.
It was a pleasure working with customers who really wanted something special and unique for their renovation, and together we created a space that they can enjoy for years to come.
