If you’re like me, I need to have…. or at least know about all the newest kitchen technology that hits the market.
Not that I’m competitive (actually, I am!!), but at least knowing about the most innovative technology makes me feel ahead of the game.
1. At the top of consumers’ wish list for kitchen technology is a hands-free faucet.
An electronic faucet is preset at a certain temperature and is activated once it senses motion in the sink. Not only is this cool technology but it actually saves you water.
Running a tap to wash your hands or brush your teeth can use up to four litres of water, most of which is wasted. An electronic faucet uses about 20% of that amount.
2. Do you and your family charge your phones and tablets in the kitchen?
We’ll soon be seeing countertops featuring wireless charging ports that are already embedded into the counter’s surface. No more wires to get in the way of your food prep!
3. Big changes are happening in major appliances such as fridges, stoves and dishwashers.
Imagine programming your appliances remotely from your smartphone!
We’ve all experienced that moment of panic when we arrive to work only to question if we remembered to turn off the stove!!!
No worries, you’ll be able to check the status of your stove on your smartphone.
The revolutionary, new “Smart Fridge” can order your groceries for you and can even help you with recipe selections through a connected application on your smart device.
4. EVERYTHING is getting smarter!
Lighting experts have known for years that changing the colour and vibrancy of light can completely change the look and feel of a room.
LED light bulbs will now be able to provide colour therapy in any room in your home, not to mention change levels of brightness.
Of course this too can be controlled through your smartphone. (don’t ever misplace your smartphone!!)
5. Imagine never overcooking a chicken or pot roast again.
The digital thermometer has been around for a few years, but it is still one of my favorite tech gadgets and definitely worth mentioning.
A stainless steel prong is inserted into whatever kind of meat you’re cooking. A reader is attached to the prong letting you know the exact temperature your meat or poultry has reached at the centre and how long it will take to cook through to perfection.
The future of innovative Kitchen Technology is quickly approaching.
Knowing what will save you time and offer the most benefit to you and your family will help you make the best choices.
