Gatsby would be proud of the beautiful spaces Just Basements and Artium Design Build (JBA) has created over the past 20 years; and we are very much looking forward to our next "Roaring" 20 years of "Great" customers and renovation projects. In order to appreciate the transformation of JBA since its founding it is essential to share our story, from beginning to present.
February 1999, our founder, Norm Lecuyer, decided it was time start a full service, residential maintenance and renovation company. We were quickly attracted to the larger projects and within two years we were doing strictly renovations; kitchens, bathrooms and even basements. After hearing the praises about the stunning basements we were developing the light bulb went off and a new niche renovator was born. Just Basements grew out of our customers need for not just more space, but well designed, quality space for their growing families. We quickly became Ottawa's first true design build, basement renovator. Growing a niche company required focused marketing and dedication to the concept which eventually established Just Basements as Ottawa's, and eventually one of Canada's, premier basement design build firms.
After many of our past customers inquired about projects within the upper levels of their homes; Just Basements decided that it was time to officially move upstairs. ARTium Design Build was created and the world of kitchens, bathrooms and even full home renovations was taken by storm. Do not fret, as many of you know, Just Basements still exists and still creates dream basements, working alongside ARTium, renovating homes from top to bottom.
Just Basements and ARTium Design Build has continued to grow over the years adding many wonderful employees to our team. We value our talented staff knowing that great people make a great company. With a growing business came a larger recognition of the time and dedication of the JBA team. In 2011 we were awarded our first design award and we have been fortunate to be recognized for many, many more over the years. Of our various accolades; we are most proud of our four, Canadian Home Builders Association, national awards in a range of categories including Any Room in the Home, Basements, Ensuite Bathroom and Whole Home renovations.
2012 brought the move into our current showroom and design studio. The showroom has since evolved from its initial renovation and is an outstanding example of our work and our dedication to quality design. You can experience our design studio in person, at the upcoming Open House on June 1st!
It seems fitting to celebrate such an exemplary 20 years, and to look forward to 20 more. From the team at ARTium and Just Basements, we extend a thank you to all who have supported us in the past, from past customers, vendors, friends and family. Without each experience these 20 years would not have been as wonderfully successful as they have been. To those we have not yet had the chance to meet, we sincerely hope our paths cross in the next great chapter of JBA. Whether it be on June 1st at our Open House, and 20-year celebration, at a design meeting, or otherwise, we look forward to getting to know you better here at Just Basements and ARTium Design Build.
