Warm & Cozy
Functionality and style were the focus of this main floor renovation!
The homeowners decided that they needed a refresh of their space for quality time with family.
THE PLAN
Though it may look modern, this home’s layout does not suit its owner’s lifestyle. It was time for a change! The new main floor would create a better space to continue making happy memories with family & friends.
THE PLAN
The new layout of the kitchen and living space made a big impact on the use of this space full of potential! The kitchen was reconfigured to add additional cabinetry, display storage, and cabinetry accessories to make life much easier. The white oak cabinets played into the homeowners love of Scandinavian aesthetics. The fireplace was relocated to allow for it to be a focal point rather than an obstruction. A large patio door & windows were added to capture that gorgeous view of the tree line and integrate the three-season room.
THE BEFORE
An obstructed view of a gorgeous backyard was a big factor in the renovation of this space, as natural lighting is important. A large fireplace, that was oddly placed, creates an awkward layout for the living area and the kitchen was not built for high traffic.
THE DESIGN BOARD
A neutral warm-toned palette was used to accommodate the Scandinavian design inspiration and incorporate elements throughout the rest of the home. The homeowner’s bold décor will allow for pops of colour throughout. Black accents balance the light and dark elements to create a cohesive design.
THE FINALE
This renovation has completely transformed the main floor from a non-functional layout to the best space in the house! With a neutral colour palette and an open-concept layout, the perfect family-oriented space can be enjoyed for years to come.
